Team Ultra Beasts nearing the finish in Dana Point, CA

On April 24 and 25, 2009, Team Ultra Beasts (Lambert "LT" Timmermans, and Rob "Robo" Cowan and his dog Brandi, took on the 154 mile relay known as The Ragnar Relay - Los Angeles, taking 28:42:07 hours to complete it. LT ran approximately 100 miles, Rob ran approximately 80 miles, and Brandi ran 37.2 miles. They were the only 2-person (plus dog) ultra team. Sufficient funds were raised for The Rescue Train, a Los Angeles-based pet rescue organization to rescue a dog in its final hours. The dog has since been named Relay. Brandi is also a rescued dog - she was bought for $25 by a police officer on a street corner in East Los Angeles, and was adopted by the Cowan family from a rescue organization, so we had a personal reason and commitment to help raise funds for The Rescue Train. It is easy to continue making donations at The Rescue Train website using PAYPAL. Thanks to those who donated and came out to cheer us on - the Ultra Beasts were happy to receive all the support. The course began in Santa Barbara and finished in Dana Point, CA!
